Celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8 in style as MANNING CARTELL teams up with Dress for Success to support the Empower Hour campaign. The theme for this year – Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress – sets the tone for the approach to celebrating and supporting International Women’s Day 2024.

ABOUT DRESS FOR SUCCESS
Dress for Success is a global not-for-profit organisation with a mission to empower women to achieve economic independence. Founded in 1997, Dress For Success now operates in 139 cities across 22 countries, including Australia. By creating a network of support, offering access to professional attire and providing development tools to help women thrive in work and life, the organisation has helped over 1.3 million women work towards self-sufficiency. Dress For Success aims to bridge the gap for vulnerable women by addressing unconscious bias, and creating fairness and equality for jobseekers who identify as female. Instilling confidence, building resilience and restoring dignity is key for women to not only get the job but to thrive in that job.
The empower hour campaign
The Empower Hour initiative is focussed on helping vulnerable women gain the skills and confidence they need to enter or re-enter the workforce. This is done through donations of professional clothing, as well as helping individuals to develop skills and boost their confidence. This year, Dress For Success NSW and ACT is on a mission to empower more than 750 women by supporting access to meaningful employment, a liveable wage and a brighter future.
Our contribution and how you can get involved
As a female-founded business with the ultimate goal to give people confidence in what they wear, MANNING CARTELL will be participating as a proud partner of Empower Hour 2024.
Celebrate International Women's Day this year with us by participating in the “Buy One, Gift One” initiative. In collaboration with Dress for Success, for every item purchased, MANNING CARTELL will donate a piece to support women in need. If you’ve been eyeing up new-season pieces – from suiting to dresses or even outfit pick-me-ups – now is the time to invest. It’s for the good of your wardrobe and the community, after all.
You can also make a donation directly through Dress For Success with one-off and monthly options available. A donation of $50 can provide a woman with mock interview practice and resume support, while $150 provides access to three professional development workshops. Larger donations, like $400 and $1000, also provide access to interview outfits and workwear wardrobes.
Purple, green, and white are the colours associated with International Women’s Day. They represent justice and dignity, hope and purity respectively. Incorporating these colours into your outfit on Friday is a great way to show your support of the cause and get in the celebration mood.
